![]() Now I was willing to make some sacrifices and even some more for having color as well but to be honest, the Nova Air C isn't good at anything other than maybe reading comics, the screen looks closer to a regular LCD screen with a broken backlight than an e-ink device, it basically needs the backlight to be on most of the time However, a huge junk of my reading is nowdays happening in Google Chrome and other Android apps (mostly magazine subscriptions), and since I often read outside in the sun / in the evening an android based e-ink device was the logical choice for both practical and medical (impairment of the circadium rythm due to bluelight exposure) reasons. To my surprise even the mediocre screen of the 2014 Kindle Touch (which never looked good in the first place) easily beats the Nova Air C, the visual difference in brightness and screen clarity is actually much bigger than what the photo suggests The new Kindle Paperwhite is simply amazing, it's the only device I can use without any backlight when sitting indoors, on top of that the backlight of the Kindle illuminates its screen in a much more unimposing/natural way compared to the Nova Air C backlight (which then looks more like an illuminated LCD screen with washed out colors) ![]() ![]() From left to right (backlight off): 2014 Kindle Touch, 2021 Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition, 2022 Nova Air C
